Default Betta: Crowntail or Veil tail?

I'm planning on getting a Betta fish and I'm really excited. =)

I know my nearest pet store sells both crowntails and veil tails and I was wondering which kind you prefer.

It depends on the gender. =] For me, I prefer the females to be veil tails.

For the males, I like them crown tail. Unless they're royal blue. Then I like them to be veils for some odd reason....

I have never had a crown tail, but I have had a few veils. I would like to have a crown tail eventually, but I think I prefer the veils.

I like crowntails more when they have a lot of webbiing reduction. Sometimes they can be incredibly striking that way. Veiltails look much more graceful in the water, though. I like watching the tail rippling when they swim

Its mainly on your preference on the fin type that catches your intrest best. Oh by the way, i'm Bettalu(Luis) the forum's Breeder/Moderator and want to welcome you and any other new members!
But as i was saying, on the type of betta you should get, personally i love crowns. i breed them own some and i own veils also. i cross bred my crown with my female Veil to get some combtails so there fin type would resemble both. On your decision i would appreciate if you came back to us and post which one you went with and y Talk to you soon

i have one veiltail betta right now and he looks great! but those crowntails look really good too. i have never had a crowntail, but i have heard great things about them also if you are looking for a female, i would go with a veiltail.
