    Default Plakat Betta "bloated"?

I definitely know it's a male. It's a show Plakat that had a flaw in coloration and a fin defect so he wasn't breeding material.

He's suddenly seems bloated and while he normally sits on his plants at the top of his tank he's at the bottom and EXTREMELY inactive.

Is this dropsy? What else could it be? And how do I treat. It's like 3 am so will he last until tomorrow morning? I have no way to get out to a store tonight for meds.

    Please keep answers respectful.
I fed him a bit more than usual the other day. More "off his schedule" but only a little pellet or two, maybe twice a day. He's literally sitting on the bottom of his tank and he's never done that, he's always on the top sitting on the plants. He seemed less bloated and now has gotten hugely bloated again. Think a partial water change would help at all?

If it's dropsy his scales should be sticking out too.

Not sure if you can treat it, we had a female betta that had dropsy recently and she died within a day or so of us noticing.

fast him for a day or so, if no change feed him small pieces of cooked shelled pea, it will unblockhim if he's constapated. If his water is clean why change it now it will only stress him further.
