Hi, English man living in bangkok. Bettas are cool and not easy to keep. If I can help anyone, or I need help i'll be here.

    Default Hello!

Hi I am not only new to the forum but new to owning a Betta Fish. I really love him. He's very cute and feisty. I had no idea how much personality these little fish would have.

I got my little guy freeze dried blood worms and he loves them! The only problem is that is all he will eat. Is it ok to have him on a diet of just the freeze dried blood worms or should I keep trying with the fish flakes? Other than sorting out his eating he seems to be doing fine.

Oh also I do feed him 3x a day. I've read that I should only be giving him 3 or 4 of the blood worms but he eats what I put in there. I am nervous about over feeding him but I don't want him to starve either.

Thanks for any help or advice
    Christy

Default Hello, I'm Holly, new member

I registered last night (ok, wee hours of the morning while I couldn't sleep worried about my sick betta). I posted for help in the health forum but am awaiting my post be reviewed by the admin, I think? (it was 4 am, lol).

I got my first betta 3 weeks ago, he doesn't have a name yet; I was going to name him Bruce Lee, for obvious reasons, but it didn't seem to fit him. I actually thought I was going to keep him in a vase on my desk at work (don't be mad, I didn't know better) but when I got to the fish store they told me they really need at least a 1.5 gallon bowl. So I got on the internet, did some research and now I have him in a 5 gal tank, with some blue gravel, a heater and two live plants which he loves to lay on.

I look forward to learning more about Betta's and sharing stories!

Hello all I am Vanessa and I am also new to this forum. I recently bought a red betta that I named Klaus. As I didn't know any better, I had little Klaus in a tiny little plastic box. Luckily my husband insisted that I research Bettas, and after wikipedia, I found this forum. I now have Klaus in a big glass bowl with his new swimming partner Blinky the albino catfish. They also have a snorkel (filter), a new pad (castle), beach (white rocks), and a garden (algae plant and something silk). Klaus loves to show of his new lap times and keeps close watch on me and my partner wherever we are in the room. All the info has helped a lot, so thanks! Vanessa

I have 1 bichir, 1 unknown cichlid (both of which are going to be moved to a 75 gallon) 2 goldfish,1 koi, 5 wild caught sailfin mollies, 2 kuhli loaches. And soon I'll be getting 6 white clouds one more kuhli loach to go with the rest of the ones i have and some killifish and if i can find one a plakat male or if i'm lucky a pair.
