Betta photography

Hi all. Just wondering how you photograph your bettas. I enjoy photography and am always searching for methods to improve the quality of photos so all input is greatly appreciated. I especially enjoy photographing the bettas for many reasons . . . but who couldn't resist all those fin types and colors?!

So come on and reveal those secrets to great betta photography.

good question only wish i knew i got a new betta the other day so natural i want to take pix of my new betta baby and all the pix i take come out blary so if u find out please let me know

Ok,ok, here is my photography secrets.

1. Luck

2. I am using a 6 megapixel camera w/ the Macro close-up setting set to on. Its usually depicted by a picture of a flower somewhere on your camera.

3. Take pictures w/ the flash on and off. Sometimes you just get the right angle.

4. I have recently purchased what is called a Betta Condo made by Penn Plax that can house up to 4 Bettas. It suction cups right to the glass and provides nice up close poses of your Bettas.

The picture I have provided is a close up of one of my babies in the red rectangle.

Fivestar, very nice pic! And the betta condo helps getting those really nice shots and up close. . . you don't have to chase them around the tank trying to snap a shot. LOL Some of these will pose for me and others, huh, they know they're beautiful and don't wanna be bothered with me! Little brats. LOL Thanks for the tips.

Just wanted to throw this at some of you who desire great pics of their bettas. I called the Pet store that I bought my Betta Condo from and asked if they could order more and if I bought 5 would I get some kind of discount. Well I did this having you all in mind and I have 5 Betta Condos on their way and I am offering what I paid for them $10ea plus 4.80 for priority shipping. I paid $13 bucks for the one I have now so for an extra 2 bucks you dont have to leave your house. Anyone interested put your dibs in now cuz Im sure they wont last.

Great vid, Luis. He obviously is using a higher end camera to shoot. (and he probably paid less than half what I paid for mine since he's in Japan, dammit!). Love the way he stayed on the fry and didn't loose them while shooting. Very nice and thank you for sharing!

lol i know seriously (about paying probably 5usd all together for that quality) Oh and fivestar my lovely girlfriend ordered that for me with her card so i'm waiting to hear if it went thru to know if i should get it from you. BUT DON'T wait up on me, SERIOUSLY, first come first serve, is what we New Yorkas live by lol. I at least know i have one in the process so if there are anyone with a couple of bettas and no more than 1 tank I WOULD GET AHOLD OF FIVESTAR ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!! just saying
