yeah, i think iv accidentally done the same thing to my females i was like, uhh pose, they finally posed, then i took a piccy n walked away, i realised i shoulda given them a treat afta id gone, i was like 'eh oh well'

Sparky isnt like that though, its so cute, ill try to get a piccy or vid of my rearranging the things in his tank, he trys to lie on my hand half the time, the other half hes like 'WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING' ramming my hand lol, the other 0.00001% of the time he just swims around as usual.

To Oscarbetta, i use my phones camera, it is 1.3MP and the photos turn out fine, although when i want a good one ill use our digital camera, its got like 100 times macro zoom or something (could be 50 i dont know much about the camera its my mums)

I normally move my fish to an area of bright sunlight for their photo shoot. It seems to pick up their colors and any iridescent properties better.

I have a 9mpx camera that I put on super macro setting. My camera also has a color option for vivid color that helps to avoid washed out colors.

I use a dSLR with an F1.8 lens and a high ISO (usually 1600); this lets me get well-exposed pictures at faster shutter speeds (since fish can never hold still long enough for a good picture...). I don't use the flash since that washes out a lot of the depth of their color sometimes. I haven't tried shooting in natural light yet, but usually tank lights plus some room lights are plenty. Color balance gets fixed with a couple button clicks in post-processing.

End result gets me a nice photo like this one of my roomie's fish!

I've never tried taking pictures of fish, though, so I'm still working on trying to smooth them out a bit without losing too much detail.
