| well jumping on them is probably to get them to sink, if there above the water line i wouldn't use those anymore, if you want something like lilypads, i would get some indian almond leaves, These float and sink and actually releases antibiotic in the water and anitoxidants for your betta and the tanks water. INDIAN ALMOND LEAF - AN ASIAN SECRET - IT WORKS LIKE MAGIC ! The Sea Almond tree produces a substance in its leaves and sap to defend against insect parasites. The dried leaves are ideal for reducing losses due to bacterial disease, and keeping sensitive species. Add one leaf per 10-15 gallons of water for all sensitive fishes such as baby discus, dwarf cichlids, rare bettas and all black water tetras, rasboras and catfishes. You will be amazed at the results and improved vitality and breeding frequency in your fish. The leaves have been a long kept secret in Asia where they are used by many breeders and wholesalers. | Bettas are fish who like to lie on things like leaves, moss, or the bottom of the tank. As long as the leaves are totally in the water, there shouldn't be a problem. I would think the leaves are better than the gravel which can often contain things that can cause tail rot especially if you don't keep up with weekly water changes. One of my Bettas likes to rest on a bridge that has some Java Moss on it that is in his tank. Wherever your fella is happy should be fine as long as he isn't being harmed! ![]()

| yes like is stated earlier, but i think that its a little bit scary knowing your betta is jumping to get to the lilly pad and might over jump and fall out or something. WE ARE HAVEING TO MANY POSTS ON JUMPERS HITTING THE FLOOR! lol and we don't want that. just take caution with you pride and joy ![]()

| Just to add another thought . . . If your tank isn't covered, COVER IT! Too many of these Bettas are fantastic jumpers! Make sure the lily pads are in the water, too.

| Well, the lily pads are in the water but not all the way....they have flowers on them so the fish lay on top of the flowers. The fish are not all the way in the water when they are laying on them. This is what was so strange to me. At first I thought they were dead because it didn't look like they were breathing but they were. |

| i do recommend not leaving them on the lily pads, your chancing them being out of the water and suffocating! there are plenty live water plants that serve the same purpose! also fake plants do have ruff edges and can rip there finage if caught wrong! becarefull!! making me nervous just pictureing it!
