Default Betta lost a scale and is scratching self

i looked at my betta when i came home today from work and noticed he had a missing scale and he was rubbing himself against the plants, and when he swims he will stop and looks like he is yawning, so i took the filter and carbon out and let the pump keep goin and added general cure by Aquarium pharmaceuticals it cures gill and skin flukes, hole in the head disease, anchor worm, velvet, and fish lice so will he be fine or is he a dead fish swimming?

No he's not a dead fish swimming, WE DON'T WANT NOR GINX THAT! You also might want to do a water change if its a fungal,parasite/protozoan infection, such as ick and velvet. 40-50% of the water should be changed and conditioned! Also add aquarium salt to your tanks water, 1/2 teaspoon for every gallon. also mythelene blue is great to use for your bettas! and helps with i believe open sores and helps the breething thru their gills. Refer to FishMomma for help on this She's VERY knowledge able on health and care! i breed and rarely have sicknesses for my fish...lol constantly with watching them!

i checked with the flashlight to see if its velvet and he looks exactly the way i bought him and he doesnt look or act sick he flares when he sees his reflection he swims around and he eats except in the morning probably cuz he is still full from the night before but when i feed him when i get home he eats like crazy, and my other betta that is in a vase for now is actually doing better then the one in the 10gallon tank and he isnt being filtered or has plants except one floating plant but he is alot bigger then my ct betta. so i think i was jus over reacting to my fish i got it wrong he jus rubs himself through the leafs cuz he gets into his hiding place and not constantly rubbing himself through the leafs in the tank so he is fine. thanx for the suggestions so now i know wat i can do if he really gets velvet or ich

    Thanks Luis!

Let me know if I can help! Been off the site for several days, so it may take me awhile to get everything answered that's come into my "IN" box but I'll get to things ASAP!
