He's getting used to his new surrounding, even tho he's in the same tank, doing a tremendous change in his surroundings is like him being in a new tank. Just Make sure those new things put in are Very clean and have nothing on them, you don't want to bring outside bacteria into your tank. Try getting another plant for him tho, they like soft things, also Floating plants are a +. having stuff that are hard in the tank gives a chance(and not saying it will happen) of when getting sick or ichy they tend to rub themselves anything in the tank, and you don't want to damage his fins if this happens. just a suggestion, no a "have to".

my fish when put into my breeding tank took about a day- day and a half to fully respond to me like he always does. if he not showing any signs of sickness like staying at the bottom of the tank, loss of appetite, loss of color, non-responsive then let me know and i'll help you out with that. i don't want to get into the sicknesses and show u treatments if he's not sick, i'm a hypo and VERY superstitious so i dont' want to say anything. He's just gettin used to his surroundings, try and get a small mirror and place it on the other side of the tank near the plants and statue, so when he see's his reflection of another betta by it, he'll get distration from the surrounding to go investigate what other betta is in his tank! try this to keep him occupied. You don't want to do this often and stress him out tho. about 2-3 min every couple of hours.

no he ate and i accidently feed him to many blood worms so he has a fat belly, but other then staying near my filter he seems to by fine and its not a statue my bad its looks like a temple entrance, but i like the set up now then i did before and my filter looks like it needs a change so i might go to petsmart tomarrow and get a replacement cuz when i took the potted plant out i didnt get all the dirt off the roots so it went into the water but my filter took care of that so i think it should be fine till tomorrow when i get off work, the plant is kinda rough but doesnt seem to be sharp and it has large leaves and thats why i bought it so he can use it to build a nest or sleep on top of them like he did with the old plant, it jus hurts me, that i bought all this for him and he doesnt seem to appreciate it, sometimes i wish there was a fish whisperer lol
