Keeping My Beta Warm

Hi All,

I have a happy, bubble-nest building beta boy in a 5-gallon tank with an electric heater to maintain his tank's temperature. However, I live in the northwest corner of the Pacific Northwest and with winter fast approaching, I'm scared that if our power goes out he'll get freeze to death.

How can I keep him warm if the power goes out to his heater? I've grown very fond of the little guy and want to keep him cozy warm.
