Hi! My advice would be to not put anything else in your one gallon tank. Betta fish are not very happy with other fish in such a small space. If you had a larger tank (like a 10 gallon) you could try a community-type tank. However, since most Betta fish should have a least 2 gallons to live in, adding more fish to a small area will cause harmful chemical levels to rise (ammonia and nitrite) causing stress to Mr. Betta. Also, your Betta may feel threatened by more fish in a small area causing him to be even more aggressive. You also have to watch even with the small fish that you don't have any nippy types in with Mr. Betta or his tail may disappear! He would probably be happy with some JAVA MOSS which can be purchased online. It will keep harmful chemicals low and also adds some decor to the tank.
