    You don't have to do anything. The males just build bubble nests for practice.

    You can breed them if you want, but it's difficult, and if you're going to do it you need to work out what you'll do with the hundreds of babies.

    Don't breed them, unless you are prepared for all the fish you'll have to care for.

    Please don't take this the wrong way.... but, seeing as how you only just identified what a bubble-nest is, you may want to read more about bettas before even thinking about breeding them. I know it's exciting, especially when you first get into betta collecting... but it really is quite a bit of work.

    If you are set on breeding, then you'll need to get a female. And on top of that, you may end up with a female that doesn't have eggs. Besides buying the female, you'll also need to get a spawning tank, a grow tank, and then be prepared for the 50+ babies you'll need to separate. And before that, you'll need to cultivate some live food for the fry.

    .... it's more than just putting a male and female together.
