Betta Fish Breeding Question?

My male has built the bubble nest. When will my female's belly get big and show vertical stripes? She show no sign of "a marble in her belly" like someone told me it would look like. And how will I know? Please Help!

if she is old enough, it will happen about every 3 weeks. Have you ever seen her full of eggs and with stripes? If not she might not be old enough. She doesn't just automatically fill with eggs at the sight of a male. She has to be old enough and healthy enough and willing to receive the male. It sounds to me like your fish need a lot more conditioning before they are ready for mating.
