| My female and male are together in a ten-fifteen gallon tank. I think he started a bubble nest in the corner of the styrofoam cup. But there is not a lot. just like a square inch of bubbles. If he finishes how will he know to squeeze the eggs out of her? SHould I seperate them or just leave them so she entices him to make the nest and, how many bubbles to you need to complete the nest? Thanks! And have a Happy Thanksgiving! |

| In general, you should wait until there's about four square inches of bubble nest that's at least half an inch or so thick. Sometimes it takes the male a while to figure it out, especially if it's his first time (people are this way, too... ) so don't worry if it takes many days for anything to happen. How's your girl doing? Is she stripey and full of eggs? She should be kind of docile and swimming with her head down towards the male (even when they're separate) to show that she accepts him as dominant. Otherwise she might not let him squeeze her and you might have a bloody fight on your hands. |
