Breeding Betta Fish!!!!!!?

I need an easy step by step process on how to breed betta fish properly. I need all of the lil nitty gritty deets so please... type away. I need to know what I need to buy and how many babies I am going to have.
And what if I only want a few babies? How do I do that? ALso, what if the guy doesn;t make a nest or the gal won;t give eggs?
