As a breeder i think you definitly should look into bettas if your even thinking of breeding. its not just drop the female in and hope for the best. its definitly not that easy!
i breed and it takes alot of time and effort and is NOT an easy thing to do but it do-able.
you should breed if you have the TIME and DEDICATION to give them.
It takes alot of time out of each day to look after your breeding pair and to set up the tank to breeding standards(which in this case can cost a little bit)
You should if you Don't have the time and dedication because it can be a fatal mistake to your bettas!
They are called fighting fish for a reason, there are territorial to the same sex and opposite. If 2 males are put in the same tank, be sure one will come out alive with torn and ripped fins. even at time later the winner still dies from fatal bites and rips.
They fight for territoral reasons, and dominance reasons. also in the breeding process harrassments and bites are also of there nature and can lead to death, if not watch by the owner constantly!!
NO you can't keep alot in a big tank unless you want to witness a all out betta brawl, and expect to have dead bettas which i don't recommend. Although Female bettas can somewhat co-exist its usually of the same batch of fry in which they were all hatched from.
And your welcome
