definitly not, if you want to breed them you can end up with on an average of 50-150+. Its also not just a easy, throw the female in and hope for the best. theres a lot of preping, patients and care involve. not only that you need the right size tanks and expect to spend some $$$ on supplies for the breeding tank, for fry food, such as live cultures or brine shrimp eggs to hatch. live plants, etc. things that promote and help in keeping your adults happy, and safe when spawning and keeping your eggs-fry(when hatch) healthy. i've had many spawns and many bettas i have given to family, friends and pet stores and its not an easy hobby at all, but the time and dedication and constant taking care of is worth it. just be ready to test patients lol and constantly watching over them for months. but like i said, as a betta breeder i think its well worth the time. check out these links for the set ups and breeding basics and if your still intrested and honestly have the TIME and DEDICATION i'll be happy to help another begginer become a betta breeder!!!
