Betta age and breeding?

How old does bettas have to be to be spawned,is it 5 months or more?

To what i think & read & experienced, they are at best breeding when under a year old, and usually pet shops have them about 6 months old already,

I bought my male home & he was building a nest straight away!!
And when i got the female she was eager, vertical bars (even though now they are gone :'( !!)

Yeah thats somewhat correct, i breed for fun and hobby, and usually 7-8 months is when that "can" mate, thats if they want to. any questions on breeding be sure to ask or reply to any question on my breeding thread, and or betta fry thread
