when a female is done breeding do her vertical bars dissapear???
ok because i left them in the dark for two hours and the male has lost interest in the female after hours of intensive flaring

Usually, somtimes not. You know they are done b/c the females will run away from the male and the male will attack her, but stay under the nest guarding it.
