    Default Crown vs Comb

How does one tell the difference between a crown and a combtail? I know the comb has less webbing reduction and possibly flowier tails, but is there a set standard of webbing reduction that makes it a crown vs comb? Or is it based on just genetics?

Do the comb tails get a bit of the veil's hardiness?

well as me actually getting that combination of veil/crown mix in my fry i am hopping that the dominant gene in the veil shows in health. As the outsome so far in my fry the "veil" look is almost exact except with the outstanding obvious of the rays showing. I would be able to tell you more when they are of age of telling.

But as for the Crown Vs. Comb, i seen pictures of mixes that show more of a veil tail outlook on its fins, and others with less webbing in between the rays, Mainly genetics of each parent can really tell the out come of it, but i'm hoping the breed the exsisting fry with 50% veil tails and 50% crowns to see the outcomes of eachs fry. And to see which is the hardiest and most colorful.

Yeah I really like the hardiness of the veil (my veil boy has never been sick in the 3 years I have had him!) but I tend to like more of the halfmoons/deltas and never really got into the crown tails, but some of the combtail pictures I have seen were just gorgeous! And if they have the hardiness of the veils that is just a huge plus

I have seen fish that were labeled as combtails that were indistinguishable from crowntails though. That's why I was trying to see if it was defined by genetics or defined by the amount of webbing reduction
