yes thats correct, a combtail is the fry from a crowntail and a veiltail, These like i stated to you earlier is the fry i have and probably going to sell in a couple of weeks, In my videos i on the showroom section shows combtail fry. The finage of the combtail vary, showing different finnage from each other and there siblings. This is my first crossbreeding as i normally breed the same finnage with each other. But being that i've seen cross bred bettas some combtails have a longer caudal fin with the "Veil" look with the "crowns protruding slighty". Other comtails i seen are the rays of the crowns are doubled with the delicate shapes of a veil tail. So i'm pretty excited for my fry to grow and see there finnage as adults. As for the color they vary, being that my bettas are more of a metalic red, blue, green and purple the fry will range from all those colors.
Crowntails are there one fintype not cros bred with any other but there fintype.
if you'd like more info on the fintypes of all different types of betta (all 50 species types) i'll be more than happy to give you the link
