    Default If a female crowntail betta mates with a male plakat betta, can some babies be long
    finned crowntails? I bought a female crowntail,(she is a short finned female crowntail), and the male is a plakat ( short finned betta also ), and i am breeding them, since the female is a short fin crowntail, and her dad was probably a long finned betta, could some babies turn out to be long finned?? i don't know, just wondering!!

    Its possible, i breed and seen some gene differences in bettas such as the one your wondering about. Its possible, like us to get traits from further down generations that will be different looking than the parents. So as a breeder i wouldn't pass that idea up!

    Are these store bought or from a breeder? If they are from a breeder, the breeder(s) should be able to help you out as they will know what is genetically behind the fish you have. If store bought, you will probably have to wait and see what you get. Keep us posted tho and much success in your breeding!
