What kind of plants do crown tail Betta fish eat?

I have a crown tail beta fish, and hes not looking to good right now, i went to pet-co and they said hes stressed and they told me what to do.
If he doesn't make it and a get a new fish what kind of plants and food should i feed the fish.
( i heard beta get tired of one food over and over)
And were can i get these foods/plants?

Now petco is usually wrong when it comes to bettas, trust me on this i know this first hand. Your right tho about giving your betta a variety of choice for there set diet! Giving them the same food over and over will cause constipation, uncomfort and swim bladder disorder! Getting a variety of food will ensure a healthy balance diet. Hikari is a brand breeders like myself use for adults and for fry(this is another topic). You want to purchase flakes and pellets(soaking the pellets for about 4-5minutes to soften and get moist). Also a nice treat is freeze dried brine shrimp and bloodworms for a treat here and there. here's the link [Registered users only can see links. ]. As for the eating plants thing.. BETTAS ARE CARNIVORES the only thing "plants" they eat is a cooked pea( the inside! ), mainly to treat swim bladder disease. Putting live plants in the water is good for the water and keeping harmful nitrates down, and putting oxidation in the water. This also gives your betta natural hidding places to rest. so a water plant is still a good idea for you tank.
