    Please don't listen to Sarah bettas can be very peacefully fish its only if you put two males together they will fight,

    A male and female betta will pair up for life and take care of the fry together.

    Are you kidding a male and a female betta fish will fight. Why else when breeding do you need dense refuge? To keep the female betta fish safe. If you dont care about the well fare of your female fish go ahead.

    OMG.

    dont put a male and male together.
    dont put a female and male UNLESS ur educated in the spawning.

    if u put them together it will only result in teared fins, etc.

    however, if you get a bigger tank- say 10 gallon or so you could house 5 female bettas together.
