The male Betta will look like he's pregnant or about to explode. I once feed my Betta to many frozen brine shrimp, I love him and wanted to make sure my extra, special, fish gets the most treats. I now feed him less to be on the safe side. He's doing excellent.
    3 pellets a day
    or
5 tiny bits of brine shrimp

It is easy to feed a little too much, but if you feed just a little bit twice a day you will be OK.

What overfeeding does is pollute the water. The food the fish does not eat simply falls to the bottom of the fishy world. There it starts to decompose and then releases all that stuff into the fishy water.

Water changes help control this. With just one fish, just feed a teeny, tiny, bit. Watch how much reaches the bottom to know if you are feeding it too much.
