    Default Live Plant Question

I'm considering getting some Java Moss for my tanks. My question is:
Do you have to add anything to the water like fertilizer, plant food etc. ?

Nope, Java Moss is rather easy to grow and very little maintenance. Just make sure there is something in the tank for it to attach to or it will grow ALL over your tank. Once it gets too big, you can trim it back also.

Java Moss is the easiest and best plant for many tanks since it helps keep the ammonia and nitrIte levels lower. It requires no extra attention and will simply live off of your fish's pee and poo. It tends to be a darker green until it starts to grow so if you want something a little greener Willow Moss is also good. I purchase my moss at "Aquarium Garden" online and am always pleased with their moss. Usually you can't find it at pet shops anyway. If it gets too big just pull it apart and throw the extra away or give it to someone who also keeps Bettas as long as your Bettas are healthy. If it gets food or poo in it, it is also very easy to rinse off during water changes.

    Good luck!
