Default Oh No! Power Outage Broke Heater?

    Hey Everyone,

My power recently went out three times yesterday, but for very short intervals. Today, I see that the tank temperature had dropped and the heater is not on. i tried unplugging it and plugging it back in but no dice. Is it possible that the power outages broke it? What should I do?

    Thanks

power surges can break many electronics. If your heater isn't turning on anymore, I would say it is safe to say it is broken.

Do you have one of those heaters that light up when it is on? It probably just burnt out the heating element. If at all possible with your heater you should try getting a new heating element and replacing it. If you can't then I would say a new heater is in order. Put it on a surge protector this time to ensure this doesn't happen again.

    Sorry about your bad luck
