    Bettas like their water to be around 78-82 degrees F. Anything in the mid to low 70s is too chilly for them and causes stress and inactivity. The stress from cooler temps can eventually lead to illness, too. I have one heater that is in my 2.5 gallon tanks and it is called the Hydor Mini. It raises the temp only 2-3 degrees and constantly keeps it at that temp. I've been very pleased with it since it is very thin and doesn't take up any place since it runs right next the the tank's wall. You really should consider getting at least a 2 gallon tank since that is the minimum recommendation for 1 Betta. Just be sure to do weekly water changes of 25%-50% since you have a filter and watch for any ammonia and nitrIte spikes, too.

    Let me know if you have any other questions!

    yeah i have one of those hydor mini 7w heaters too they are great for smaller tanks that you cant fit a 25w heat in

    you should consider one plus you can hide them under gravel so you cant even see it

    Do those heaters work for a 1 gal tank? I couldn't find a heater that was for a tank any less than 2 gals, so I just keep the room a little warmer. It keeps my tanks at 78-80F which is pretty nice for the fish and their roommate, a ball python

    if your tank isn't tall enough, you can consider positioning your heater diagonally (45 degree angle, for example). i do that with 2 of my small tanks, and there's no problem.

    I really cant get another tank as I've just got this one please help what can I do. I cant use a mini heater because it heats the water too hot and a heater with a thermostat wont fit anyway?

    what you can do is first of try to save up to purchase a 2 gallon tank, which i'm sure we said a million times that is ideal for them. It will be hard to keep your betta warm without a heater so what you can do which i highly would use caution is keep a heat lamp above there water to warm the water, there are also stick on thermometer for the outside of tanks to tell the water temp to i would consider that. but the downfall to the heat lamp thing is that too much light can produce algae especially with live plants in the tank. if you do have the mini heater i would use it (WITH HAVING A THERMOMETER IN PLACE) and remove it when the waters reach 80DegreesF and place back in the water when the temp drops at most 6 degrees.
    Unfortunatly this will be a pain in the neck to do, so i would advise as soon as you can purchase a 2 gallon to definitly do that.

    yes but definitly like i said keep an eye on it, as heat lamps can raise the surface of the water greatly and with light being as bright as the lamp provides possible algea growth is very possible. Keep me posted on how you and your little guy is doing

    Please.. I need help immediately..

    I did a 100% water change yesterday .. I didn't know that I had better not change the water completely.

    More worst when I saw the fish hardly could move, I change the water again (I thought something wrong with the water, or the bowl wasn't clean enough).

    I put some food .. but he didn't eat it.

    I'm so panic (PLEASE .. PLEASE HELP).

    ===========
    NOTE:
    * The new water that I put (each time) was 24 hours settled down (Lukewarm water) to get the room temperature.
    * The bowl isn't that big, I think 4-5 Liter (with one fish only)
    * I feel cold in my apartment (so the water might be even cold)
    ===========
